Baby Room

This is where we care for babies, generally between 3 and 12 months of age. This is not a rigid rule. The age at which your child moves on to other parts of the nursery depends on their individual development. We take into account for example: factors like how mobile a child is and how well they are likely to cope as they move into a larger room with older children.

Every child in the Baby room has their own key person who will help with the gradual transition to the lager rooms, introducing your child to other members of staff and of course, the older children.

All the activities in the baby room are based on their senses, with lots of things to touch and taste. We will introduce heuristic play (play with natural objects that help children learn through discovery), which will continues as the children move up into the toddler rooms. All activities which the babies take part in are based around them using their senses.

The babies are looked after by qualified and experienced staff on a ration of one member of staff to three children
